How do I make the dried pampas grass fluffy after unboxing?
This is standard for wholesale dried pampas. Shake each stem gently outside to remove loose seeds. Then, place them in warm sunlight for 3-5 hours. The heat will naturally expand the plumes, making them fluffy and voluminous. You can also use a hairdryer on low heat/low speed.
Does it shed? How do I stop it?
All natural dried grass sheds slightly when moved. To fix this, once you have styled the grass in the vase, mist it lightly with strong-hold hairspray. This locks the fibers in place and prevents further shedding. Do not touch them unnecessarily after spraying.
Are these stems strong enough for floral foam?
Yes. The stems are hollow but rigid, similar to bamboo. They can be inserted into dry floral foam for arches. If you need to lengthen them, you can easily insert a wooden pick or wire into the hollow stem base.
How long do they last?
Unlike fresh flowers, dried pampas grass decor can last for 3+ years. The key is to keep them dry (no water!) and away from high humidity or direct rain.
